Rajaji said ” Whatever may be one’s department of specialisation everyone in this democracy should have knowledge of Law. Inspite of this Wise advice, not much is done to provide adequate facilities to persue legal

studies, as a result of which many a young person eager to persue lega education was frustrated and neither the govemment nor any philanthropist came to his rescue, in this fast developing industrial metropolis where the need is great.

In view of the aforesalid reasons’ Singareddy Govardhana Reddy, Correspondent took up this challenging task and formed Sri Venkateswara Educa-tional Society, by which Smt. Basava Rama Tarakam Memorial Law College is established and named after late wife of Hona’ble Chief Minister, Sri N.T. Rama Rao in the Academic Year 1986 – 87.

The Cllege has got pemissian from the Govenment ofAndhra Pradesh wide GO.Ms. No. 387, dated 20-8-1986. And also got permanent Affliation from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati wide Letter No. 53056C. l (2)96, dated 4-8-1998.  Since 2019 it was affiliated to YOGI VEMANA UNIVERSITY, and proving LLB 3 Years and 5 Years Academic Programs. And we used to get renewal of Affiliation from the Bar Council of India from time to time.. It was Accredited by NBA. It is a Private Un-aided, Co-education College.

Later We shifted our Law College to a four staired own building of the sponsoring Sri Venkateswara Educational Society at Rayachoty Road, Kadapa.

This institution is purely a self supporting venture without any grants and sustained only by the students benefitted. Further the main aim of establishing the institution is not merely to tum out graduates in Law but to produce good citizens.

The College is equipped with an excellent library and reading room which possess latest editions of all standard test books legal classics, case reports, digests and encyclopaedias.

There is an adequate number of staff members who have specialised in diferent branches of law. The percentage of pass in the University examination is quite satisfactory. Some students have topped the list of succesful candidates by securing highest marks in both 3 year LL.B. and 5 year LL.B.

The parents/Guardians have to take special interest as their children and wards in the maintainance of discipline, regular attendence, studies, extracurricular activities and prompt payment of all dues to the institution.

Further they are requested to maintain close liaison and help the management in developing the institution and maintaining descipline.
